Drilling for the retaining wall piles has begun along the north property line and is expected to take approximately 2-3 months to complete.

On October 15, 2024, Bethany officially broke ground on the new Bethany Calgary care home, a significant step forward in the two-decade redevelopment journey. 

Construction for the new Bethany Calgary care home is set to begin in mid-October, with work taking place Monday through Saturday during daytime hours.

In early September, the demolition of Bethany’s former corporate office, located on the northeast corner of the Bethany Calgary site, will commence. The work is expected to take approximately three weeks.

On May 27, 2024, The City of Calgary approved the Bethany Calgary development permit. The proposed redevelopment of the site meets all land use and zoning requirements. Bethany will follow The City of Calgary's development permit appeal process guidelines.

Health Minister Jason Copping has announced the Government of Alberta’s funding commitment towards the redevelopment of Bethany Care Society’s Bethany Calgary care centre.
